More than "Just a Hobby"...

Have you ever experienced anxiety? Depression? If so, you're not alone. Alisha (the creator of 16th Street Clay Co.) has struggled with her mental health for as long as she can remember. In December of 2022, during a rough bout of depression, she decided to turn to art as a form of therapy to help cope with her symptoms. She never imagined her "therapy" would soon turn into something she could use to not only practice self-care, but also support her family AND do her part in normalizing conversations surrounding mental health.

The Gal Behind the Earrings

Alisha is a true "Valley" girl (Ohio/West Virginia version) who is proud of her midwest roots and finds endless joy in spending time with her family, being in nature, and practicing various forms of self-care (e.g., creating earrings, writing, going for walks, spending time with animals, etc.).

Prior to beginning her business, Alisha graduated from Ohio University with a BA in English Literature and later earned her MA in Human Services Counseling and Business. At present, she works as a store manager for a locally owned business in Wheeling, WV.

Meet the Fam!

When Alisha first started the 16th Street brand (before making earrings was ever even a thought in her mind), she was a single woman living life with her pekingese pooch (Sophie; rest in heaven, sweet angel) in their apartment on 16th Street. Today (though they have since left the street that started it all), the 16th Street brand lives on stronger than ever.

Today, Alisha is married to the love of her life (Josh) who frequently helps her with all sides of the business, and they are the proud pup-parents to both Sophie (the peke!) and her new (completely-incapable-of-standing-still-for-a-photo) baby brother, JACK (whom they rescued in August of 2023).
